Redneck Preview: Triumph of the Sensational 7

It's an event over one year in the making... the return of Redneck Comics with their Summer 2007 creation Triumph of the Sensational 7!

After the release of Journey into the Sewer (The Adventures of Sewerman) #10 in winter 2005, the Redneck guys (Eric and Scott Williams) went on a lengthy hiatus.  Although they are not known for a Spartan work ethic, the Williams Bros. at least boast that they always have ideas and a great deal of enthusiasm, and so, after about 6 months of strict inactivity, Scott set down to draw the preliminary sketches of what would become the next Sensational 7 adventure.

The plot remains tightly under wraps, but a few preview images have been released:

This comic features the first ink-to-paper plot a Sensational 7 comic has ever been produced with (as previous attempts to harness the Sensational 7 in script form usually fall flat.)  With a plot in place and gags worked out by not only Scott but Eric as well, pencil work began in May of 2006... and were not completed until June of the following year.

"It's hard to say why a comic doesn't get done, at least not for a very long time," Scott reasoned, "Maybe this is how Joe Madureira feels, I don't know.  I'm a very, very lazy person and when the comic wasn't finished by September, school pushed it out of the way."

However, at the very first available moment, Scott jumped back into drawing, finishing the remaining pages in a few days, and is currently preparing it for launch with colour and lettering.

Meanwhile, spurring on this creative revolution, is the idea of a new Sewerman series set to run from Fall 2007 to Spring 2009 or so.  Scott and Eric have been seriously plotting out and designing a new book, which will continue on the tradition of the original Journey into the Sewer.

The Redneck Renaissance is underway!
