Return to Redneck Comics

In this section, you will get a bunch of kewl bonus features from the Redneck Comics guys, to help convey what exactly is this thing we call "Redneck Comics."

Brief History of Redneck: Scott & Eric have been scribbling down comics for years, but finally got around to finishing one in the summer of 2001, with the first comic, Sensational 7.  This was followed immediately by the 10-issue Journey into the Sewer (The Adventures of Sewerman) and the S7 follow-up, The Sensational 7 Rides Again.  After a hiatus, Redneck is once again springing to life in 2007.

Technical Overview: The process is mostly a do-it-yourself one that anybody with a moderate desire to create comics could emulate.  After the scripts are written, each page is drawn by Scott in HB pencil (or whatever's available, usually #2's,) and scanned.  On the computer, the pencil renderings are cleaned up, coloured and lettered courtesy of a process that has become known as "Studio Redneck Studios+," which mostly involves MS Paint and/or JASC Paint Shop Pro for fancier stuff.

Interview: In order to promote the release of Redneck Comics Volume 1, Scott & Eric did an interview for ComiX-Fan, a website Scott wrote for, which can be read here.

Reviews: Redneck Comics Volume 1 was reviewed for ComiXtreme by Andrea Speed, but the review has since been lost.  Her sentiments that it was funny and well-written with lackluster art was echoed by Craig Reade in his review at StillontheShelf.com

RN Stinger: As part of the "Redneck Comics Sells Out" theme/joke of Journey into the Sewer (The Adventures of Sewerman) #10, we did a number of fake ads for "upcoming" titles, many of which included artwork by our cousin Kris Stemmer.

Filibuster: To signify that we once again cared about our comics, we did an April Fool's joke to go with our site's un-re-design (going back to the modified classic look.)  In this fake press release, we detail the outrageous plans for a daily 22-page comic that will captivate readers.

Merchandise: You can buy numerous Redneck t-shirts, hats, coasters, cups, posters, and of course clocks, at our superstore, which is also where Redneck Comics Volume 2 is on sale.
